Not sewing or knitting for a while!! Trying to get a handle on what is up with Miss Em's Spleen issue!! She is not sick or showing any signs of illness... But they are doing a MRI Tuesday with sedation to try and see exactly what is on it.... They are 99% sure it is nothing bad.... We tried a MRI without sedation a couple weeks ago... The doctor told me she would not need it... Well she got into the tube and flipped... I had her pulled out and we rescheduled.. But I heard they have an open MRI machine (no tube) that is just as good as the tube MRI but the doctor will not let us do it because he wants his radiologist looking at the films, etc. and frankly I am tired of arguing and waiting.. So we are doing it and making sure it gets done and done right this time!!
I did do some sewing on my flip flop quilt binding! And looked at my lizard ridge knitting!!
I am either going to bring the lizard ridge, BSJ or Deb Bliss Baby Shawl to the hospital while waiting for MRI to be done... it will be at least 3 hours there.. with EM in the tube for at least 45 minutes to an hour then 1/2 hour for recovery.....

I started to finish the flip flop quilt... Boy that is hard to do!! I need to sew up a Choo Choo Train Quilt for the 10th of August!! I know I am not going to finish the knitting but may finish the Chick hat in time!!

So Far I love it!! I have my mom's old singer and my grandmother's Sears Kenmore but I really wanted something new and portable..... This fit the bill!
I had inherited my dad's mom's old Viking but the repair cost was almost 300 without a gurantee plud parts are no longer obtainable!
I am working on a little chick hat from itty bitty hats for my sisters baby due in Sept. (It's a boy!) Then to work on a hat for my SIL due in Oct! It's a girl!!

Where have I been? Well all day yesterday and into the night here.....
They won in overtime in a Shoot Out!
In a way I was hoping to find a LYS around the TD Bank North Garden to go visit either prior to the game or after... because my most my family who went they just love to eat and drink before.... Not that I do not like it but it can get a little rowdy... But I forgot to look on the web before I left... So, probably another trip down over February Break is in order...
Miss Emily is sick... There is a nasty flu virus going around her daycare and strep, etc @ school! It was only a matter of time before she caught something! So, today we stay home and rest do nothing...
I am also doing a Harry Potter Themed Sock Kit Swap! So, I have been neglecting my blogging duties here... I have a character Blog for it.... I will not show anything here nor reveal my identity until the swap is over in April!!
What kind of day is it?
A rainy cold and yucky day! The perfect day to knit! I casted on for....
I also went to visit my Nana yesterday! She is 91 and going strong! She lives alone, drives and knits! She has a TON of yarn that my Great Aunt gave her.... So, I saw some that caught my eye!
There are at least 4 skeins of each color... The top is a lilac it looks blue in the pic. The bright orange is to make a scarf or hat for hunting season... and the smaller white skien is some 3ply baby yarn.... I was thinking of a sweater for Miss Emily.... Not sure!
Pain
So.. I decided to try a new discipline type plan on the students... COMPUTER was put on the board... If I had to speak to them about noise, listening, etc. a letter is wiped away. If all letters are cleared they put their heads down... computer class lost... Well, I was a little over zealous and wiped very hard with my hand... the tip of my middle finger hit the edge of my white board.. causing great pain and a blood like blister! I tried to photograph the injury but it just looks like I am giving everyone the finger... I soaked it in Epsom salts and warm water tonight and if it still looks bad tomorrow I will see the nurse... But I will try to knit on though it!
No knitting tonight I had parent/teacher conference with Miss Emily's Kindergarten Teacher. She is doing good ! Yeah!
Tomorrow I will work on the Babe! One more leg to go! Then I will cast on again for the Gum Drop Hat!

It's Getting Closer....
What is Getting Closer?? A few things!
Emily starts Kindergarten Sept. 4th!
I start back to work Sept. 4th!
And my new niece will be arriving around Oct. 7th (ish)!
So! I need to get knitting!! But since I pulled my neck and shoulder out knitting has been painful if non-existent! But I will trudge on!! A lot to do!! I just need to try to sit down and focus! FOCUS!!! If that is at all possible!

My Hero...
So.... Joe goes to the dump Monday night. Now the dump is literally like 50 feet from our driveway. Well it took him a while to come back... Suddenly his cell shows up on the phone... I am ready to let in where are u blah blah! He says call 911 I can't get thru a car just flipped into the pond by the Legion! Yep!! If my husband had not gone on a store run who knows what would have happened! He was passing back from the store and saw a car flipped on it's roof in the pond! On the brakes went... he could hear people banging on the doors... so he jumped in and got the door open and people out... looks like two young kids.... And that's it...
Also, please remember my grandmother, Marion Kramer Quinn... She passed away Aug. 9th... We have services today....
But on a knitting note... I have started the second sleeve of the easy baby sweater!! Yeah!! Just hoping I have enough yarn... but I swear I bought another skein... of course if i did i can't find it!!
