I finished the Flip Flop Quilt!! And the "Choo CHoo Train" Quilt!!

And we got a call from the doctor! Looks like all will be well with Miss EM!! One final one on one with another radiologist for a second opinion but they think it is a weird form of blood vessels!

Not sewing or knitting for a while!! Trying to get a handle on what is up with Miss Em's Spleen issue!! She is not sick or showing any signs of illness... But they are doing a MRI Tuesday with sedation to try and see exactly what is on it.... They are 99% sure it is nothing bad.... We tried a MRI without sedation a couple weeks ago... The doctor told me she would not need it... Well she got into the tube and flipped... I had her pulled out and we rescheduled.. But I heard they have an open MRI machine (no tube) that is just as good as the tube MRI but the doctor will not let us do it because he wants his radiologist looking at the films, etc. and frankly I am tired of arguing and waiting.. So we are doing it and making sure it gets done and done right this time!!

I did do some sewing on my flip flop quilt binding! And looked at my lizard ridge knitting!!

I am either going to bring the lizard ridge, BSJ or Deb Bliss Baby Shawl to the hospital while waiting for MRI to be done... it will be at least 3 hours there.. with EM in the tube for at least 45 minutes to an hour then 1/2 hour for recovery.....

So I have been spending a lot of time over at Facebook!! Not much of anything here... School has started.. I am sick! Lost my voice and terrible sore throat. I am on antibiotics just in case it is strep. I decided to join this!

I already sent out 2 postcards one to Finland and the other to Kentucky! I look forward to receive some from various places!!

Other news I am an Aunt twice over!! My sister had her baby boy on September 13th!! And then my sister-in-law just had her daughter Oct. 2nd!! I have a niece and nephew within two weeks!!
And no knitting or sewing to show for it!! i have been lazy!!

So life has been very stressful but finally we have come to a conclusion!! Here is the story... Em had a final ultrasound for her kidneys (from birth) all was good on that end.... but they found what they thought was a cyst on her spleen! About 1 inch big!! She feels fine and does not bother her what so ever... never would have known it was there!! So blood work and ct scan! Blood work fine ct scan no clue what it is!! No one could tell plus around here we do not have a lot of pediatric specialists! So they send us up to a hematologist at the Maine Children's Cancer Center!! Talk about FREAKING out they try to stress you are only seeing the doctor for the hematology part not oncology!! But all the blood work for cancer, etc. came back totally negative. Exam by the doctor went great... They had special pediatric radiologists look at the CT scan... We get the call yesterday.... They do not think it is anything serious or cancerous just something like blood vessels or something weird... So another CT scan in October just to make sure it is not growing!! And her Tonsils come out in November on the 20th!! URGH!! I am EXHAUSTED!! I start work Tuesday! Tomorrow we are just RESTING!!

Miss Em started 1st grade!!! Sigh!!

On the knitting front a little has been done... I finished the Chick Hat for my sister's shower. And am working on a BSJ and baby shawl.

Quilting I have nothing! DH is now on 3rd shift and sleeping in the sewing room/bedroom! I need to move everything out but we are not sure if he is staying on this shift and only has a couple weeks left!!

Miss Em has been working at her first loose tooth since the 4th! And Saturday night it popped out.... DH finally admitted he was a little sad.... The going rate for the first tooth is $5! My dad got her on the phone and was telling her to ask for $10 from the tooth fairy! Luckily she did not care in the morning!!

I started to finish the flip flop quilt... Boy that is hard to do!! I need to sew up a Choo Choo Train Quilt for the 10th of August!! I know I am not going to finish the knitting but may finish the Chick hat in time!!

Just thought I would share the view I saw while camping at the family camp at the lake last weekend!!

On the knitting front I have returned to the Wedding Sampler Afghan! Have not touched in over a year! But thought it would make a great baby gift! Since I ave 3 to make!! (Sept., Oct., and Dec)

The Deb Bliss Baby Shawl is slowly coming along I only knitted one row while camping!

Well Em's new dress with the pre-shirred fabric is coming undone!! Luckily it was on sale at Joann's because it is expensive!! I guess I should have done something to the elastic part to secure it better.... Next time I guess I will try to shirr my own fabric.... More time but worth it I think...

I finally got my batteries charged in my camera!! And had some down time!! Partly because Miss Em's Tee-ball and first year of school are down!! and I am on a short summer break until I start my summer job!! I also wrenched my neck again and have aggravated it with knitting and quilting!! So, I need to force myself to take a break!!
Ok so pictures will finally upload!! (Tried and Tried on the 25th no luck!)

This is the Flip-Flop Quilt for Emily's Daycare person who moved to Florida to attend College!
With my neck I have yet to sew the layers together.... Soon.... I hope
(this was going to be for my niece but then we had the person leaving and Em wanted to give her one soo bad!! and she LOVES Flip Flops!)

Then we have the Baby Shawl from Deb Bliss. For my nephew due in Sept.!! This I think is what aggravated my
already pulled neck... too much knitting!!

The next projects are:
A Sponge Bob Quilt for my niece (Though her birthday is July 1st not sure of that will happen!)
Finish 3 more chicks for the chick hat. I sewed one on and do not know if I really like it... But it will work. Work on baby shawl! Choo Choo Quilt and another Flip Flop Quilt!!

I have been around!! I have finished most of the Chick Hat from Itty Bitty! Just need to make 5 chicks to sew on it! I have been working on Appliqué Blocks for the Flip Flop Quilt for my niece's 14th birthday in August! Hope to have pics soon but my batteries keep dying!! The weather has been soooo nice I have just been sitting outside and reading or gardening!! But it sounds like finally some much needed rain on Saturday! Maybe I can finish up some FO's!!

It was a beautiful SUNNY Day!!! After visiting my mom's grave (Emily helped us plant a marigold there) we headed to my grandmother's.... She is my mom's mom.... She is 91 , lives by herself and drives!! It was a great visit! We love to visit Nana! Especially Miss Em because she spoils her rotten!! Then off to get my mother's Day present! I got this:

So Far I love it!! I have my mom's old singer and my grandmother's Sears Kenmore but I really wanted something new and portable..... This fit the bill!

I had inherited my dad's mom's old Viking but the repair cost was almost 300 without a gurantee plud parts are no longer obtainable!

I am working on a little chick hat from itty bitty hats for my sisters baby due in Sept. (It's a boy!) Then to work on a hat for my SIL due in Oct! It's a girl!!

Long time no blog! I have been very busy with work, etc. Em started T-Ball Wed. Crazy!!

But Does this seem odd or random.... here is the story:
DH had gone Turkey Scouting last night... Emily and I were laying on the floor in the living room watching a movie.. I was in my pj's... I had had a few glasses of wine... When all of a sudden my kitchen door flies open (not sure if Em opened it or XXX did)... the dogs go running out and Emily is yelling ..... Mommy it's XXX from school! XXX, her sister and mother just show up about 7 p.m. at my house to hand deliver a birthday invite (which is like May 25th!).... Well I am out in my yard gathering my dogs when XXX runs in my house and up to Em's room with Em in tow it could have been Em running upstairs with XX in tow it was so fast it was a blur..... So of course I invite the mom in who is apologizing for barging in, etc. Just was going to leave the invite on the door? Did not know where we lived but thought this might be the house..... Now my house was literally a DISASTER!!! Dishes piled up still had the food from dinner piled on the stove... My PJs are the ones I stole from the hospital when I had my gallbladder surgery not the most flattering but sooo COMFY! My head is a little tipsy from the wine .... Then the kids go running outside... I am forced to talk to the mom.... Oh my GOD I feel like an A*%!!! Where were the kids outside.... randomly all sitting inside the old dog house that Emily NEVER goes near but this time she decides to let them all pile in
Finally they left... with mom saying let's go home to eat dinner but who randomly shows up at people's houses like that? I mean it would be one thing to call first (has our number because way back in Feb. they randomly called) or if it was long time friends or family..... I felt a little uncomfortable?? I think me having the wine was the most uncomfortable part.... The one night out of a long time I decide to relax and have a glass or two of wine ..... URGH!!

We will learn to bind it Tuesday night at class! I have to finish zig zag stitching it around the design then steam it.... I am really loving this craft!

Last night I went over to the shop and purchased this

And I have a Hartman Hook (kinda reminds me of the Addi Turbo of rug hooking! LOVE it)

And my yellow plaid wool paid 6.00 for that love the colors!

I have a frame coming!! YEAH!! Got a great deal only costing me 85 with shipping normally it would be well over 120....
Now I just need a cutter! But they are about 170... For now I am going into the shop and using their's plus I can always rotary cut or scissor cut... It is Primitive style I am going for! I have 3 books with rugs and quilts coming and one on rug hooking....

Well my first hooked rug is almost done!! YEAH!! I just have to steam it and bind it! I will do the steaming and prep work for the binding here at home... Then our last class will be Tuesday @ the Wool & Goods shop down the street! I hope it is a nice night I can walk !!

Other then that nothing new to report other then a sick DD with strep! DH's turn to stay home today with her!

Finally I have a new dining room floor! After 10 years of ugly smelly rose carpet! I have!

We also threw out the table and chairs!! The chairs my DH had before we married!! YEAH!! My sister and I go to the Christmas Tree Shoppe in Portland tomorrow! Maybe I can find something!! YEAH!!!

Hello! I am still here... been busy with work and regular old life.. URGH! Not much knitting even on my Hogwart Swap secret bag! Lot's of unexpected snow here! Gotta just love New England ! Maybe it is the zombies that Sheepish always speaks of.... hmmmm... I wonder!

I am gearing up for a felted wool purse class through a neighboring Adult Ed in a couple weeks! Then after that a Primitive Rug Hooking class! The rug hooking should be fun! The store teaching the course is opening right in Rollinsford!! Within walking distance ! Dangerous! It is called Wool & Goods! And they are opening Feb 21st! Woot!! Woot!!

Should have pics of Emily's birthday party soon. Just have to charge the pesky batteries! It was a Hannah Montana theme! Her real birthday is Thursday!

Tongues

Tongues? Yep... Did you know that if injured they heal remarkably fast and well.... How do I know... Well Miss Emily had a slight incident sledding at daycare Thursday! She slipped on icy snow and literally put a hole about the size of a dime in her tongue! Not all the way through mind you but more crater like! I have to say she handled it very well... We took the trip to the ER and were told it could need a stitch but it should heal fine without. We opted for no stitch... So she is on a soft food diet for at least three days , antibiotics for precaution and rinsing after every meal... I kept her home Friday... She wakes up to a healed over tongue! It does not even show signs of a hole! It was crazy!! Of course it is swollen and sore! We even took a before picture....

Where have I been? Well all day yesterday and into the night here.....

They won in overtime in a Shoot Out!

It was an eventful night.... to say the least.... (It was a present from myself and siblings to my dad for his birthday... DH stayed home with DD) It was a great train ride!

In a way I was hoping to find a LYS around the TD Bank North Garden to go visit either prior to the game or after... because my most my family who went they just love to eat and drink before.... Not that I do not like it but it can get a little rowdy... But I forgot to look on the web before I left... So, probably another trip down over February Break is in order...

Miss Emily is sick... There is a nasty flu virus going around her daycare and strep, etc @ school! It was only a matter of time before she caught something! So, today we stay home and rest do nothing...
I am also doing a Harry Potter Themed Sock Kit Swap! So, I have been neglecting my blogging duties here... I have a character Blog for it.... I will not show anything here nor reveal my identity until the swap is over in April!!

I had a comment asking how I did it... I used a program for my Mac called Comic Life. It is a neat little program and can create some pretty neat pages....

Well, I go to Boston on Saturday! Myself, sister, BIL, brother, SIL and Dad! We are all treating my dad for his birthday in Dec. to a Bruins game! We take the train down and back!! DH is staying home with DD... He got to go last year to a game with the family!! Now it's my turn!!

We went from 50-60's to Freezing and a Blizzard! Miss Emily and I are SNOWED in today! I am off work and School is Canceled! DH went to work... He may come home after 1/2 a day depending on weather and how many people went in to work! When he left this morning it was barely snowing!

So... 2008: The Year of Knitting Fearlessly !
What am I to do... I want to do lace! And possibly a for me sweater!! I am going to look through my stash ! I am also thinking of taking on the Stash Down 2008... Basically the goal is to end the year with less yarn then you started.... So, even if you purchase yarn and use it it counts...

I have not knitted in a while although I will have a project coming up for the Hogwarts Swap Kit 4 ! This time they have a theme of The Goblet of Fire! Love that book! But you will not hear any details or talk about it here! Because I have a secret identity blog somewhere else!! And I will be attending Hogwart's during the swap!

AS Sheepish stated in her WNBP it has been extremely spring like... We went from sub zer to 60's in a week! But I hear there is a cold front approaching!

SO, I decided to change my template! Lost all of my sidebar stuff! And I did back it all up like it said! So, I will have to redo it all tonight or tomorrow!! How frustrating!! URGH!

Well... I have decided to start going through my yarn and putting it up onto my Ravelry page (under missemilysmom).... I have not even gotten to the chunk of it!! I still have a HUGE trunk to go through! I also need to take pictures to upload! My goal this year is to knit only from my stash!

What else this year.... Start sewing again.. I can make quilts but I would really love to try simple doll or children dresses!!

So... I have decided I want a spinning wheel... I do have a used one that I bought a few years back but I want a new one.... I am leaning towards a Hitchhiker (it is easily portable and I could take it camping!) ... or an Ashford? Maybe a Louet? Anyone have any ideas?? The other option would be the amount of a wheel in yarn and knitting goods....

A rainy cold and yucky day! The perfect day to knit! I casted on for....

I also went to visit my Nana yesterday! She is 91 and going strong! She lives alone, drives and knits! She has a TON of yarn that my Great Aunt gave her.... So, I saw some that caught my eye!
There are at least 4 skeins of each color... The top is a lilac it looks blue in the pic. The bright orange is to make a scarf or hat for hunting season... and the smaller white skien is some 3ply baby yarn.... I was thinking of a sweater for Miss Emily.... Not sure!

So, missemily got a Webkinz! A Bullfrog! There is a whole world of Webkinz! We now have a Bull Frog named Sammy! Today we are going shopping for Webkinz accessories and trading cards! Possibly a charm... That's how they get you! Oh well.. When I was 5 or 6 it was the Cabbage Patch Kid and I had it all too...

I have been checking out Cashcrate it is a survey place and they pay you? Not sure if it is worth it but we will see!

Well we just got back from our Webkinz adventure! Okay I think I am addicted too... It reminds me of the Ty Beanie Baby thing... My mom collected them before she passed away... I remember the thrill of finding the "Retired" or "the once they are gone they are gone"....

We bought the Reindeer (on sale because X-mas Ended) then we went to a different store and bought the Penguin both the Lil' Webkinz and the regular Webkinz... Because they were a "once they are gone they are gone" then we got some trading cards.... (2 free packs with the penguins).. bought some pants for the frog she got for Christmas and a shirt for the penguin... It is hard to find clothes for the ones she has sooo... a Knitting project is born!

Of course I googled and found this over at Running with Sticks
and some discussion over here @ DIY forum

I am sure I can also make things up! And I will google and search for more!
Ebay here I come :0) This could be dangerous :0)

So, they are finally doing the Secret Santa at work again! I took on the endeavor of making mine for part of the final gift a scarf! I am already 50% done! This picture is of when I first started on Sunday... last night I got a lot done!

Finally! Call me silly! But I broke down and got high speed Internet! I have been on dial-up for YEARS! and since I bought the new 20" iMac I needed it!!

With the snow prediction for tomorrow evening into Monday.. I did all of my shopping and errands today! Tomorrow is cook a turkey, knit and watch the rest of Season 2 Grey's... (So, I am behind!) But I just found out at ABC.com I can watch the recent Grey's for free! Yeah! I can get caught up!!!

Pain

So.. I decided to try a new discipline type plan on the students... COMPUTER was put on the board... If I had to speak to them about noise, listening, etc. a letter is wiped away. If all letters are cleared they put their heads down... computer class lost... Well, I was a little over zealous and wiped very hard with my hand... the tip of my middle finger hit the edge of my white board.. causing great pain and a blood like blister! I tried to photograph the injury but it just looks like I am giving everyone the finger... I soaked it in Epsom salts and warm water tonight and if it still looks bad tomorrow I will see the nurse... But I will try to knit on though it!
No knitting tonight I had parent/teacher conference with Miss Emily's Kindergarten Teacher. She is doing good ! Yeah!

Tomorrow I will work on the Babe! One more leg to go! Then I will cast on again for the Gum Drop Hat!

Good Night! I took my Tylenol PM and it is kicking in.... All the words jumble together :0)

Yes.. I am a person that gets up and heads out at 3 am!! It was my sister and my dad this year! We go looking for the deals! List and Flyer's in hand!! Of course if the lines are too long and rudeness gets too crazy we call it quites! But I got MissEmily some good things!! Hannah Montana stuff, Barbie s, High School Musical... need I say more!! But after eating breakfast we had a second wind but I can feel it coming to a low and I will need a nap soon... Got some great videoes! Office season 1, some 2.97 movies of various array! But now I feel like...

I am sitting here ... 10 pm. Wondering if I should write about it... But it always feels good just to express..I finally let my guard down and cry... I found her box in the top of the closet... I look every year. There are pictures, locket of hair and even a nice knitted cap (like the ones I knit now..) I came close to losing it this morning on the way to work but held it all together...
I will always remember.... She would have been 8 years old today had she lived.

I finished both the front and back half of the Knitted Babe yet to be named last night. Started an arm! I start 2 days of Teacher workshops today.. Plus side... No students... down side I still feel like crap! I left work on Friday with a cold and aches... feel a little better now except my stomach pain is back.. I have gotten it on and off since Gallbladder removal in April! After researching... it is common! Great! But I also think it is aggravated by spicy foods.. I know they say this is not true but! I ate a spicy Taco salad a few weeks ago! Pain! took a while to subside because I was stressed! Last week ate the same taco salad! Pain! Then yesterday ate pasta with spicy herb ed sauce! Pain this morning! Yeah!!!

Knitted Babe and iMac... Oh My!

After what has been a very long delay! My new 20" iMac has arrived! Yeah!! So.. I bring you Photobooth Fun! Photo booth is an application on the Macs to take pics or videos with the built in iSight camera... It is fun... So we can at least shoot video and pics off to far away family if anything! And on the Knitting front first half of Knitted Babe done second started!

the hank of yarn that valently saved my Koigu PPM and the cotton beige for Knitted Babe... After cooling down I checked out the yarn tradgedy site... Miss Emily accompanied me saying encouraging things like, "It's ok mommy it happens..." or "Mommy that 's what baby dogs do... " and "mom how about a brush... We brush my tangles... "

After looking Koigu is fine... The band around it saved it... So, it stayed in a fine circle to be balled up... the Hank of unknown yarn gave it's knitting ability up to save it... The ball of beige lost only a yard or so of length due to a tight knot... Miss Emily wished to photograph the carnage but the batteries are dead right now in the camera... I will see if the Hank of Unknown yarn can be triaged later...
So, i feel as though I must now knit the Knitted Babe and something with my Koigu... Socks? Or a scarf... Hmmmm....

We have a Yarn Tragedy !!

A Tragedy ... as i sit here writing and blogging and surfing.... My puppy Sam destroyed yarn!! And it was not just any yarn!! My Koigu PPM!!! Tangled I think beyond repair.... He also got a couple other hanks of unknown named yarn from a previous SP round!! URGH!!!!!! He has done it before but it was able to be saved ... I really think this time he did it in.... I hope i can untangle it later.... Right now I just do not want to look at it!!

...hibernating for the winter. I frogged it! I think I will start over in the bigger size... My niece will be 6 months in mid April... So the 12 month size will be better.

So... what to start... I think either the Fiber Trends Ribbon Blanket or the Debbie Bliss Embroidered Kimono... Or something else... i do have a ball of yarn to start a Knitted Babe for Miss Emily or a felted Fiber Trends Teddy Bear! Miss Emily also wants another Hedgehog. I could do that since I think felting would go so much better since my washer is now working!!

I sit here thinking of the the "Hurricane" that used to be Noel... Here in New England. Thankful the Red Sox have won thus the baseball nights for DH are done... Thinking of my friend in FL who the hurricane missed... thus she got a day off because of Hurricane make-up day!! It is raining, the wind is blowing... and the people are mad!! I went into the grocery store to pick up toothpaste, cat food and shampoo! You would have thought the world was coming to an end!! They say it is going to be okay tomorrow! Really!

So, I am working on a baby sweater... but I seem to not remember where I left off in the stitich pattern... sooo i will take an educated guess! I ususally force myself to finish all 10 rows of the pattern before putting it down! Hmmm.. think I may have done that... but maybe not!!

She has arrived!! My brother and his wife had their baby girl @ 12:59 am
10/14/07!! I delivered the Baby Beret to the hospital! It goes with the
Easy Baby Sweater I gave @ the shower. But, my niece is a peanut! 7lbs
1oz. So, she will be growing into it!!

June is the month in which the most wedding ceremonies are held in Japan.

believe June is the most improper month for wedding in the year, even it
is the best in Europe. It's muggy and sticky in Japan. However, Japanese
young women seem to wish being 'June brides' at any cost.

The Japanese wedding ceremonies cost much money. They cost about $30,000
on average. The wedding couples are not satisfied usual wedding
ceremonies, and they try to think out something breathtaking. In general,
the Japanese brides wear the ready-made dresses or the dresses for rent at
the ceremonies. For this reason, some brides make hand-sewn-dresses for
themselves or the mothers make them for their daughters.

Recently, here comes a new challenge. It is the hand knitted wedding
dress. Actually, 'the hand knitted dresses' are the composite with hand
knitting, machine knitting, crocheting, lacing, and sewing. Some dedicated
Japanese knitters are crazed with it. The leading knitting magazine
Keitodama featured 'knitted wedding dresses' three times.

At this precise moment, some knitters might be busy to get their work done
by the wedding ceremonies in June.

Anyway, do you want to attend one of the ceremonies as their own fashion
show? But be careful if you do. When you attend the Japanese wedding
ceremony, you must give a cash contribution about $400!

So, now that DD is in Kindergarten things have got very busy!! She plays
soccer now... wants to learn Tae Kwon Doe @ the local Black Belt Academy!
We went and did the tour Wednesday... She was of all things shy!!! Very
strange! Well, then later @ about 6:00 decides to tell me her ear hurts!
So, after knowing not to wait off to the ER we travel! 2 hours later and 2
seconds of the Dr. looking ! Yep slight ear infection!! But, we have a
nice 3 day weekend! I am now deciding on whether to let her play in her
soccer game tomorrow or not....

On the knitting front not much to report! I had a class last night,
Wednesday Karate tour, Tuesday did not feel well and went to bed @ like 5!
Monday was soccer practice!! Maybe this 3 day weekend i can watch the
movie Knocked Up and Blades of Glory and just veg out!! i am also into
VH1's Rock of Love! And the reunion show is on Sunday night!!

What is Getting Closer?? A few things!

Emily starts Kindergarten Sept. 4th!
I start back to work Sept. 4th!
And my new niece will be arriving around Oct. 7th (ish)!

So! I need to get knitting!! But since I pulled my neck and shoulder out knitting has been painful if non-existent! But I will trudge on!! A lot to do!! I just need to try to sit down and focus! FOCUS!!! If that is at all possible!

So.... Joe goes to the dump Monday night. Now the dump is literally like 50 feet from our driveway. Well it took him a while to come back... Suddenly his cell shows up on the phone... I am ready to let in where are u blah blah! He says call 911 I can't get thru a car just flipped into the pond by the Legion! Yep!! If my husband had not gone on a store run who knows what would have happened! He was passing back from the store and saw a car flipped on it's roof in the pond! On the brakes went... he could hear people banging on the doors... so he jumped in and got the door open and people out... looks like two young kids.... And that's it...

Also, please remember my grandmother, Marion Kramer Quinn... She passed away Aug. 9th... We have services today....

But on a knitting note... I have started the second sleeve of the easy baby sweater!! Yeah!! Just hoping I have enough yarn... but I swear I bought another skein... of course if i did i can't find it!!

I went shopping for a new water sprinkler ... stopped off at my LYS Spinning Yarns to buy one skein of fingering weight to start

Well $61.00 later! I came out with a skein of Rowan 4 ply cotton for the babe!

Did I mention it is HOT here in the Northeast! SO, found some punch needle embroidery kits the other day ! Loving it! Also, got my order from Knitpicks! The magic loop booklet and Deb Bliss Special Knits book and the yarn to make the emboidored kimono! But I must finish the Easy Baby Sweater first!! I promise pics soon!! Just has been sooo hot and muggy here I have not wanted to truly touch anything!

SO, husband and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary Wednesday! My sister came over and sat for us so we could finally go out!! We went to Wild Willy's Burger's in York! Great! But bring cash because that is all they take! Then to Inn on the Blues for drinks and finally hit Fin-O-Rama and played arcade games!! Exciting huh?

Oh and I am joining the Knitted Babes Knit-a-long (well I have sent the e-mail) i have had the book for so ling! and miss Emily wants one!! and patiently waiting for my Ravelry invite!!

Hello.. to the knitting world and my facebook friends... I have a facebook page now and have realized when I post here it can post over there too...

So I am getting there on the Easy Baby sweater ! I just need to concentrate more... I also am toying with the Horcrux Socks from the Six Sox Knitalong .... But what yarn?

Placed another Knit Picks order for the Magic Loop book (40% off), Debbie Bliss Special Knits book and the yarn to make the embroidered Kimono!

Since my last post i have bought and read the new Harry Potter in a day... Now it is ended.. So, I am reading the books from the beginning and watching all the movies. I just re-watched the Goblet of Fire today...

i survived and went to Wal-mart Friday! Today I went and had breakfast with my grandmother... First day wearing real clothes and having my bandages off! Yeah!

No knitting happening right now... Still trying to get to the LYS to get just the right baby pattern and yarn! Any suggestions on an easy baby blanket? I would ove to do the pinwheel blanket.... hmmmm....

But I am participating in Relay for Life ! It is in memory of my mom who passed away in Sept. 2000. She was only 47 years old.... You can read or sponsor here!!

Our new black lab puppy should be here Tuesday evening!! Yeah!! We went out and bought puppy food, leash, dishes, etc.... Just like having a baby around! We need to puppy proof!

Hello! I survived surgery! Sore but all went great! i am home and resting! Not going back to work until Monday!!

I report there is currently sunlight here in NH!! YEAH!!!!! I thought we were going to float away!! We always get water in the cellar but this time it was pretty scary!! The power went out for a couple hours and the water rose!! Oh my! My father-in-law and sister in laws all are trapped over in Maine... hopefully the water is going down in one direction so they can at least get out! They lost power for a day or so. My father-in law had about 2 feet of water in his basement but was able to get it pumped out once power was restored!

So, no knitting... still trying to figure out what to knit.. I am thinking baby! My brother is expecting in Oct.

Finally Miss Emily and I get to take our trip to Boston tomorrow! This week is our April Break! The Amtrak train from Boston to Portland has been shut down and is finally working!! YEAH!! I am taking her to the Museum of Science!! I may try to find a yarn shop in that area but we will see!

And! Monday, 9:30 am is my gallbladder surgery! I was almost chickening out because I have actually felt pretty good! i spoke to soon! Last night had another attack! It was terrible!! But I made it thru and will now eat "rabbit food" until Sunday night! Then nothing after midnight!! Wish me luck!!

On a sad note...
We had a terrible local tragedy... a grandmother (40) and her 4 yo granddaughter were swept away feet from their home Monday... My husband and i realized who the families involved were and we all know either older brothers or sisters, etc. My brother went to school with both the little girl's mother and father! I cry just thinking of it. I too lost a daughter and a mother but they were 10 months apart... I look at Emily now in a total new light and thank God for every minute I have! So, please hug your loved ones more and more....

My thoughts and prays go out to VA Tech. I visited friends there about 8 years ago... It is a great campus and loving community... May God Keep them and bless them... My prays are with them daily.

So, all the tummy trouble! Malfunctioning gallbladder!! Mine only
functions at 8% it is suppose to be minimum 40%!

So, April 23rd it is being removed! Until then "rabbit food"! YEAH!!

Okay... so no knitting right now. My IBS has flared up! I have not had it this bad for a while! Still trying to figure out what the trigger was! URGH!! So, I try to read and relax... I am starting baby booties and hat! I bought the kit a while back and did not use it....

I am still around... Just VERY Busy!! I hardly have anytime lately at home
to get on the computer and look around at blogs or knitting!! Plus, with
the weather getting better we have been outside all the time!!

I joined a college basketball pool at work (it benefits a scholarship
fund!). Joined a recreational reading group!

On the knitting front! I need to start knitting for a baby!! My brother
and his wife are due in October!! So, I think I want to do a baby
blanket.... But, if it is a girl it needs to be purple and a boy who knows
the color.... Is their a purplish boy/girl color ou their? Hmmmm... Maybe
one of the multi colored yarns..... I really sould love to do a pinwheel
blanket....

The Heere Be Dragone shawl has not progressed.... Have not even picked it
up :0)

Well.. vacation is almost over...
I started the Heeere Be Dragone Shawl. Only on row 28 or so... It will be very very slow going!

Trying to get my taxes done... Federal filed and in my account! But I have to file Maine Non-resident! Well I was using Tax Act... did not know they do not handle non-resident!! URGH!! So, they are going to refund me a whole 6.00!
So, I try Turbo Tax but get this weird error on some schedule NR form... can't get it to e-file! So i may just be printing and mailing it in by hand!!

Well I signed up for a great swap on swap-bot for preschool coloring pages for DD! I went in this morning to get my addresses to send out our coloring page! Can't get there! There must be a problem with the site!! Grrrr......

DD's b-day was yesterday she is 5!! WOW!! We had the party Saturday... She was a little confused about 2 b-days?

Thank you to Devon for the postcard and b-day card!! Made her day!!! YEAH!!

Well, must get ready for work.. Ugh!! It has been so cold with wind chill the kids have not gone outside... It is a real pain.They are bouncing off the walls!!
When I was a kid we went out! But of course the days have changed! I swear I never see a student with a hat, mittens, etc. Jacket.. no way!! My parents made me dress in layer after layer... Just do not get it!!

Well knitting right now has not been happening! Although I did send out my final package to my SP!
But DD now have a violin! She will be 5 next Wednesday and she wants to play! Luckily I work for a school system who has a wonderful rental program! So we are renting a 1/8 violin and the money will be put towards a full size for us to own in the end!! Now, I just need to find myself one! I want a decent full size. I will teach DD and myself as we go! The best bet right now is E Bay!!
Still reading book after book and looking into sewing a penny rug!!

I feel like a mac tuck hit me!! We have all had the flu big time!! DH came home from work yesterday (he never ever misses anything) his boss made him leave.... DD got sick yesterday and last night!! I was sick middle of last week!! URGH!!
So, knitting is null and void! But I have been reading a lot of books! Most historical romance easy reads!! Just curling up watching Scoob Doo and reading....

I have finally picked up Clapotis again!! Trying to finish some of it!!

Still the weather here is soooo bizarre!! No SNOW and the temps have been
like balmy spring!! Only in New England!!

On another note! If there is anyone out there that would be willing to
send my DD a postcard or to let me know!! She is going to be 5 in Feb. and
loves getting mail!! Well, with Christmas gone she has been beside herself
at the post office with no mail!! I have looked all over the internet for

Christmas this year was sooo much fun!! All DD cared about was Baby Alive! Well.... Santa delivered!! Thank goodness one was found because they are a hot item!! Here is a pic!

Yes ! It pees and poops and eats "real food"!

And I have gotten two or three rounds on DH's sock done!! Yeah!! But we are going out to friends for New Year's and I have a feeling no knitting will happen.. it will be play cards night... We bring change and bet and play all night! We have not done it in so long it should be fun!!

I posted this first in Blogger Beta! Very confusing with the switch because I had tried it out a while back and since I was logged into my gmail account! It automatically signed me into my Beta account! And I cannot merge my Knitting and Such... Blog yet! I just have to remember this when I sign in, etc.!!

What a great time!! DD LOVED everything and had a blast!! She is almost five so the magic of Christmas and Santa was sooo much fun! I do have pictures and will post soon! Maybe now I can get some knitting done! I have the week off but have been busy ever since vacation started! Visited with my long time friend for a few hours today and made the rounds to her family! It was great because our kids are the same ages!! They had so much fun!! I keep saying one day we will just stay home and have PJ day! But you cannot beat this New England winter at the moment!! WOW!!! Hope everyone has a great New Year!!

Sheepish asked about how my car turned out.... Well it passed inspection and only needed some right axle boot thingy... $192 all together not too bad... As for knitting not one bit... I have been so busy with normal non-knitting life! Urgh don't you hate it when it gets in the way!

I have been busy getting DD's Christmas gifts done... She is going to be 5 in February so this year is really fun! She loves the magic if Santa and wants certain things... This year it is Baby Alive! Thank goodness I found one! They are totally sold out everywhere!!

I am still around. Only a few ronds of my husband's sock done....

I have been busy with Christmas!! We had our first snow of the seeason to
cause a 2 hour delay @ work!! DD was sad that the snow probably will not
last!! It is going to be in the upper 40's this weekend and pssible 55 by

I almost forgot! I signed up on Swap-Bot for the Knitting and coffee swap! I send a pal up to a pound of coffee and a skein of yarn!! How fun is that!! I am going to buy my coffee for my pal this week! And get it out this weekend!!
